AirFi selected as inflight entertainment partner for Vietnam’s new leisure carrier, Sun PhuQuoc Airways

Partnership underscores AirFi’s growing footprint in Asia-Pacific as Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches with next-generation inflight entertainment.

(December 1, 2025 – THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS) –  AirFi has been selected as the inflight entertainment (IFE) technology partner for Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPQ), a newly launched Vietnamese leisure airline created by Sun Group to connect the country’s tropical island of Phu Quoc with the wider Southeast Asia region.

Under the partnership, AirFi will deploy its portable wireless IFE platform, the AirFi Box, across SPQ’s fleet of Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft, enabling passengers to stream entertainment directly to their own devices — no seat-back screens, no internet connection, and no app required. The service went live on 1 November 2025, coinciding with SPQ’s inaugural commercial flights.

Powered by AirFi’s portable streaming technology, the system can be installed overnight with no Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) required, ensuring zero aircraft downtime. Through the browser-based portal, passengers can instantly access a rich mix of Vietnamese and English-language films, TV shows, and music, with games scheduled to be added in the December content cycle. The platform also includes a dedicated “Destinations” page highlighting Phú Quốc Island and Sun Group’s resort portfolio, as well as information on Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ mission, vision, and plans for the future.

“We’re thrilled to support Sun PhuQuoc Airways from day one of its operations,” said Jane Phan, Director Asia, AirFi. “SPQ embodies Vietnam’s dynamic, forward-looking leisure sector, and our technology will help them deliver a modern, connected inflight experience that matches their world-class ambitions.”

Based on Phú Quốc Island, SPQ positions itself as Vietnam’s first true “resort airline,” reflecting Sun Group’s broader vision to make the island a world-class tourism hub. Its first aircraft, a brand-new Airbus A321NX delivered from Hamburg, marks the start of a planned eight-aircraft fleet throughout 2025.

The partnership strengthens AirFi’s growing presence in Asia-Pacific, where its lightweight, flexible IFE and connectivity solutions are helping airlines of all sizes enhance passenger engagement and operational efficiency.
