AirFi India Plants Trees at Hospital in Bangalore

The AirFi India team recently organised its first successful tree plantation drive in the grounds of the Kidwai Memorial Oncology Institute in Bangalore, one of the oldest and most respected cancer care facilities in the country.

74 saplings were planted on the hospital grounds by 10 AirFi India employees in partnership with the E-Cure Charitable Trust, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to protect and conserve the environment.

The newly installed mango, jackfruit and gooseberry trees will now serve a dual purpose. Not only will they contribute to a greener environment at the hospital, but the fruit they bear will also become a means of revenue generation for the underprivileged.

“It’s been a very satisfying experience, being able to give back to society. Thanks to the entire team at E-Cure for making this happen,” commented Pooja Umesh, Global Lead – Human Resources at AirFi, who was present during the tree plantation drive.

The initiative is a testament to AirFi India’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community uplift. The team dedicated the entirety of June to raising its environmental consciousness to coincide with World Environment Day on 5th June 2023. The official theme of World Environment Day for this year focused on solutions to plastic pollution.

As such, AirFi India also conducted a recycling drive, which saw vendors collect recyclable waste from the residences of its remote-working employees across different cities. It also shared prompts throughout the month that encouraged team-members to switch to sustainable living practices and distributed resources to help get them started.

Following the success of the tree plantation drive, AirFi is already planning more company-wide green initiatives.
